The Stiebel Eltron SB/SBB series water heaters are indirectly fired and are equipped with either one or two large heat exchangers. The heat exchangers are heavy gauge steel with porcelain enamel coating. Three inches of urethane foam ensure that hot water stays hot, and standby heat loss is minimized.
The models with a single heat exchanger can be used in conjunction with any type of hydronic heating boiler. The models with dual heat exchangers can accept input from two heat producing sources such as a hydronic boiler and a set of solar panels, for example.
All SB and SBB models can also serve as a dedicated high-capacity solar storage tank. Its energy saving design is perfect for a variety of uses both residential and commercial.
